The Importance of Student Attendance
Regular school attendance is essential to student success and is required by Texas law. According to the Texas Student Attendance Accounting Handbook (SAAH), school districts receive funding and award course credit based on student attendance. More importantly, consistent attendance ensures students receive uninterrupted instruction, stay engaged in learning, and build strong academic habits.
Students who attend school regularly are more likely to achieve academic success, develop positive relationships with peers and teachers, and stay on track for graduation. Parents and guardians play a vital role in ensuring students attend school every day and arrive on time.

The TexasAssessment.gov Families page helps parents and students access and understand state assessment information. Families can view their child’s test results using a secure Family Portal by entering a unique student access code, TSDS/PEIMS ID, date of birth, and legal first name. The site also provides support and resources such as where to find access codes, test score release dates, frequently asked questions, and help with logging in — all designed to help families interpret assessment results and support their child’s learning.
NWEA Map Growth Family Toolkit
The NWEA Family Toolkit is a resource hub designed to help parents understand and support their child’s academic growth through NWEA assessments like MAP Growth. It offers explanations of how the assessments work, tips for preparing for tests at home, and practical guidance for supporting learning before and after testing. Families can also find tools to better interpret assessment results and access additional resources to aid their student’s success.
