Banquete Independent School District is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment for all students. Bullying, harassment, and intimidation are taken seriously..

Students, parents, staff, and community members are encouraged to report concerns so the District can respond promptly and appropriately.

What Is Bullying?

Bullying is defined in Board Policy as engaging in written or verbal expression, electronic communication, or physical conduct that:

  • Harms a student or damages the student’s property;

  • Places a student in reasonable fear of harm; or

  • Is sufficiently severe, persistent, or pervasive that it interferes with a student’s education or creates an intimidating, threatening, or abusive educational environment.

Bullying may include cyberbullying and behavior that occurs on or off campus when it disrupts the educational process.

How to Report Bullying

Option 1: Report to a Campus Administrator

Bullying concerns may be reported directly to:

  • A campus principal or assistant principal

  • A counselor

  • A teacher or staff member

Reports may be made by students, parents, guardians, or staff.

Option 2: Submit a Written or Online Report

Individuals may submit a written report or complete an online reporting form if available.

Option 3: Anonymous Reporting

Anonymous reports may be accepted; however, providing contact information can help the District fully investigate and respond to the concern.

What Happens After a Report Is Made

Once a report is received:

  1. The campus administrator will review the allegation

  2. An investigation will be conducted in accordance with Board Policy

  3. Appropriate action will be taken based on the findings

  4. Parents will be notified as required by law and policy

The District will make every effort to protect the confidentiality of all parties involved.

Protection from Retaliation

Banquete ISD strictly prohibits retaliation against any student or individual who, in good faith, reports bullying or participates in an investigation.

Support for Students

The District may provide appropriate support services, including counseling and intervention strategies, to students impacted by bullying.

Emergency Situations

If a student is in immediate danger, contact:

  • Campus administration immediately, or

  • Local law enforcement by calling 911
